Cyre
Cyre exists now only in memory. It was once celebrated as the Jewel of Galifar; it was renowned for its artistry, sophisticated culture, and widespread knowledge of arcane magic—even common folk knew a minor spell or two. Its citizens were well-educated and took pride in their nation's cultural heritage.
Cyre had the true claim to the crown of Galifar. Its ruler at the outset of the war, Mishann, was the rightful heir, and it was the betrayal by her siblings that incited the war. Yet legitimacy matters little today. On the Day of Mourning, Cyre was utterly destroyed, becoming what is now called the Mournland.
Hundreds of thousands of Cyrans who were outside its borders at the time— soldiers on foreign battlefields, serfs in Valenar, slaves in Darguun— survived only to become permanent refugees scattered across Khorvaire. Their homeland—and any hope of restoring Galifar as it once was—is gone forever.
