Animal Companion

You have forged a bond with a creature of the Eldeen wilds, trained to hunt and fight beside you.

Prerequisites: Eldeen Reaches origin, 3rd level

Benefit:

You gain a beast companion that accompanies you on your adventures and is trained to fight alongside you. Choose a Beast that is no larger than Medium and has a challenge rating of ¼ or lower. Beginning at 7th level the maximum challenge rating your beast can have increases to ½ , and at the 15th level your beast can have a maximum of challenge rating 1 and be no larger than Large.

Add your proficiency bonus to the beast's AC, attack rolls, and damage rolls. The creature's hit points are equal to that in its stat block or 5 times your ranger level (whichever is higher). Your beast gains proficiency in Wisdom saving throws and the saving throw corresponding to its highest ability score (if it is already proficient in one of these saves, use its second highest ability instead).

You can choose to let your beast spend Hit Dice from your pool during a short rest to regain hit points. The beast makes death saving throws following the normal rules. If the beast dies, you can obtain another one by spending 8 hours magically bonding with another beast that isn't hostile to you.

The beast obeys your commands as best it can. It takes its turn on your initiative, directly after you, though it doesn't take action unless you command it to. On your turn, you can verbally command the beast where to move (no action required by you).

As a bonus action you can command the beast to take the Attack, Dash, Disengage, Dodge, or Help action. It takes attacks of opportunity and other reactions without needing your command. If you have the Extra Attack feature, when you take the Attack action the beast can make a single attack in place of one of your attacks.

Beastfriend

The animals of the forest understand your tone and trust your presence, answering you as one of their own.

Prerequisite: Eldeen Reaches origin

Benefits:

  • You gain proficiency in the Animal Handling skill. If you were already proficient, you gain Expertise in the skill. If you already had Expertise you gain no further benefit.

  • You learn the druidcraft cantrip. Wisdom is your spellcasting modifier for this spell.

  • You become able to cast the spell speak with animals once per short or long rest as an innate spell. Wisdom is your spellcasting modifier for this spell.

Blessing of the Faerie

Through your service to one of the fey, you have been granted a token of their favor.

Prerequisite: Eldeen Reaches origin

Benefits:

  • Increase your Wisdom or Charisma by 1, to a maximum of 20.

  • Creatures with the fey type regard you as equivalent in social status to a fey. Thus, you may enter places only fey may go, request audiences of fey nobility, and so forth. This may not extend to creatures that are enemies of your fey ally, depending on the foe's sense of honor.

  • When making Charisma skill checks against fey creatures your proficiency bonus is doubled.

  • You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened by a spell or magical ability.

Fey's Touch

The fey left a trace of their mirth and mystery upon you, shaping your voice and your presence.

Benefits:

  • You learn the minor illusion cantrip. Wisdom is your spellcasting modifier for this spell.

  • Choose one of the skills Performance or Persuasion. You gain proficiency in the skill. If you were already proficient you gain Expertise in the skill. If you already had Expertise you gain no further benefit.

  • You learn the Sylvan language (Faerie dialect). Creatures with the fey type that hear you speak it have a friendly starting attitude toward you.

Forest Sentinel

You have spent long years guarding the wild borders of the Eldeen Reaches, watching the plains beyond for raiders, poachers, and unnatural threats. The rhythm of bow and wind is second nature to you, and distance is no barrier to your aim.

Prerequisite: Eldeen Reaches origin

Benefits:

  • You gain proficiency with shortbows and longbows.

  • You ignore disadvantage on ranged weapon attacks made at long range with shortbows or longbows.

  • You have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made in relation to sniping.

Greenwise

The quiet voices of leaf and soil guide your thoughts, granting insight drawn from the living world.

Prerequisites: Eldeen Reaches origin, Wisdom 13

Benefits:

  • Your Wisdom score increases by 1, to a maximum of 20.

  • You gain proficiency in the Insight skill. If you were already proficient, you gain Expertise in the skill. If you already had Expertise you gain no further benefit.

  • You always know what compass direction you are facing, and the time of day within an hour.

  • You learn two cantrips from this list: control flames, dancing lights, druidcraft, mage hand, mending, message, mold earth, prestidigitation, resistance, shape water, spare the dying, or thaumaturgy. Wisdom is your spellcasting modifier for these spells.

Improved Animal Companion

Years of handling and training have made you a master of beast companionship, strengthening the bond beyond instinct.

Prerequisites: Eldeen Reaches origin; 5th level; Beast Companion feature, Animal Companion feat, or other ability to acquire a beast companion

Benefits:

You are a natural when it comes to rearing animals as companions, which grants you the following benefits:

  • You can acquire a companion of up to CR 1. Starting at 6th level, you can acquire a companion with a challenge rating as high as your character level divided by 3, rounded down.

  • Your companion has the same saving throw proficiencies you do.

  • Your companion's hit point maximum equals its normal maximum or five times your character level, whichever is higher.

Reachrunner

Between the broadly spaced communities of the Eldeen Reaches, lone couriers called reachrunners carry messages and parcels across leagues of wild country. These runners are famed for endurance over speed— able to traverse tangled woods, flooded rivers, and rough hills for days without faltering.

Prerequisite: Eldeen Reaches origin, Constitution 13

Benefits:

  • Your Constitution score increases by 1, to a maximum of 20.

  • Your base walking speed increases by 5 ft.

  • You have advantage on Constitution saving throws made to resist exhaustion.

  • Difficult terrain caused by natural ground does not cost you extra movement.

Survivor of the Wilds

You were left to die in the wilds of the Eldeen Reaches — lost, exiled, or simply left behind. You learned which roots hold water, which shadows hide claws, and how to wake at the sound of a breaking twig. The forest hardened you until nothing else could.

Prerequisite: Eldeen Reaches origin, Constitution 13

Benefits:

  • Your Constitution score increases by 1, to a maximum of 20.

  • Your hit point maximum increases by an amount equal to your level when you gain this feat. Whenever you gain a level thereafter, your hit point maximum increases by an additional 1 hit point.

  • You can go twice as long without food before suffering from hunger. You need only two quarts of water per day instead of one gallon.

Wild Intuition

Instinct guides you more surely than reason, warning you of danger before it strikes.

Prerequisites: Eldeen Reaches origin, Wisdom 13

Benefits:

  • When you need to make a Wisdom saving throw you can choose to have advantage on the roll. You can use this ability once per short or long rest.

  • You gain a +5 bonus to your passive Perception score.

  • You are never surprised while conscious and not incapacitated.
