- price: 25 gp
- This compact case contains a set of fine tools and a collection of steel plates, wooden braces, alchemical resins, and synthetic ligaments. If you are proficient with blacksmith's tools, armorsmithing tools, or tinker's tools, you can use this kit to repair a warforged creature.
- Using this kit, you can repair a warforged. This process takes 10 minutes. At the end, the target regains a number of hit points equal to 1d8 + your proficiency bonus, or 2d8 + your proficiency bonus if you are a warforged.
- A warforged can use this kit on themself. This kit can be used in place of a Healer's Kit when stabilizing a dying warforged.
- Letter of Marque (250 gp):
- price: 250 gp
- "The concept of letters of marque originated during the Last War, when the rulers of the warring nations granted adventurers permission to attack ships and assets belonging to other nations. The Treaty of Thronehold declared void all letters of marque that existed at the time, but the idea survives in Breland, though in a rather altered form. For a fee of 250 gp, the Crown now issues papers granting adventurers permission to explore and plunder the ruins of Xen’drik. Though such permission is not technically necessary, wise adventurers are sure to secure it before using Sharn as a launching point for expeditions to Xen’drik. Those who try to sell treasures from Xen’drik on the open market in Breland must produce a letter of marque or face stiff fines—on top of forfeiting the treasure they won on their adventures."1
Mounts and Other Animals
Talentan Dinosaurs
- Carver
- price: 225 gp
- "A close relative of the clawfoot, a carver is a predatory dinosaur, about the size of a heavy horse, native to the Talenta Plains... Trained for war, its size and strength allow it to carry two halflings or a single human-sized rider. Halfling scouts often ride carvers in pairs as they patrol the plains. An exotic saddle is not required for riding a carver."1
- (Our world dino equivalent: utahraptor.)
- Clawfoot
- price: 110 gp
- "A human-sized predator of the Talenta Plains, this dinosaur is the halfling equivalent of a war- horse. Well trained and loyal, a clawfoot often continues fi ghting even after its rider’s death. While a clawfoot would be considered exotic on many worlds, an exotic saddle is not required for riding one."1
- (Our world dino equivalent: Deinonychus)
- Fastieth
- price: 50 gp
- "A fast-running, plant-eating dinosaur, the fastieth is the halfl ing equivalent of a pony or riding horse on the Talenta Plains. An exotic saddle is not required for riding a fastieth."1
- (Our world dino equivalent: Dryosaurus)
- Glidewing
- price: 400 gp
- "This pteranodon can carry a halfling aloft with ease. An exotic saddle is required to ride a glidewing."1
Other Animals
- Valenar Riding Horse
- price: 270 gp
- "The horses bred by the elves of Valenar are exceptionally fast and strikingly beautiful. Valenar riding horses are not generally trained for battle— their advantage is speed, not strength. Valenar elves do not usually sell their war mounts to anyone other than a fellow Valenar elf."1
- Magebred Animal
- price: 2× price of the normal animal
- "An animal magically bred by House Vadalis might have any of a number of useful qualities—higher ability scores most notable among them—and is easier to train than a mundane animal. A magebred animal of any kind costs twice as much as its mundane equivalent."1
Magic Items
- Arcane Keys
- Wondrous item (thieves' tools), uncommon (requires attunement by a rogue)
- price: 270 gp
- Arcane Keys are a finely crafted set of thieves’ tools etched with faint abjuration runes. While attuned to an Arcane Key, a rogue can use it to interact with magically sealed doors and containers as though they were ordinary locks. When picking a magical seal the rogue makes a Dexterity (Thieves’ Tools) check. The DC is +5 higher than a typical lock, or +10 if the object lacks a physical locking mechanism. On a success, the seal is suppressed for 10 minutes, or dispelled permanently, at the DM's discretion.
- If the magical seal includes an alarm spell or similar effect, the rogue may also attempt to suppress it before triggering it. This requires a separate Dexterity (Thieves’ Tools) check with a DC of 15. On a success, the alarm is suppressed for 10 minutes.
- Only characters with levels in the rogue class can attune to or benefit from the Arcane Key. In certain cities, such as Sharn, possession of this item is considered a criminal offense.
- Spellshard (Wizard’s)
- Wondrous Item, common
- price: 3 gp
- This polished Eberron dragonshard is about the size of a human fist and shimmers with hidden depths. A wizard use it as a substitute for a spellbook. Spells are scribed into it by magically imprinting them, rather than writing them with ink. To transfer a spell into the spellshard, the attuned wizard must spend 1 hour and cast arcane mark as a ritual with an expensive material component worth 10 gp / spell level. This process replaces the normal process for adding a spell to a spellbook.
- Once stored, the spell can be viewed by the attuned wizard by concentrating on the shard for 1 round. The writing appears as silvery script swirling within the shard’s depths. While a wizard is holding this spellshard they may cast arcane mark as a ritual as an innate spell. A spellshard is functionally equivalent to a spellbook for the purposes of preparing, copying, or replacing spells.
