Minor Image
2nd-level illusion
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 120 feet
Components: V, S, M (a bit of fleece)
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute
Classes: Bard, Sorcerer, Wizard, Warlock
You create an image no larger than a 15-foot cube that includes visuals and simple sounds. The sounds can include ambient noise—like footsteps, rustling, growls, or crowd murmur—but not speech or distinct words.
You can move the image to another spot within range on your turn (no action required), and the appearance and sounds can change naturally with movement. The image can’t cause damage or physical effects.
A creature can use its action to inspect the illusion, making an Intelligence (Investigation) check against your spell save DC. On a success, it realizes it’s an illusion and sees and hears it as faint and false.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the image can include intelligible speech and vocal sounds. At 4th level or higher, the illusion can last up to 10 minutes.
